Step 1: Choose your favorite internet.
There are so many internets available today, Internet Explorer (the best), FoxFire, AOL, and Yahoo. Choose the one you like the best and draw the basic design onto some paper. It doesn't have to be perfect. It should look something like this:
Step 2: Choose your domain name.
Expensive web designers may tell tell you that the domain name you really want is probably not available. However, this is not always true. They only tell you this so they can make money by selling you a domain from their own private list. A little known secret is, if you set up a domain name yourself, you can almost always get the one you want. --- Using a pen with different color ink, write in the domain you want onto your internet page. It should be printed clearly in the space below the main menu area.

Step 3: Website hosting.
By hosting your website yourself, you can save a lot of time and money. A web host is nothing more than a computer connected to the internet. If you have a computer connected to the internet, you can host your company website yourself. Your 'rig' (as they call it in the biz), should look something like this:

Step 4: Website design.
Since you understand your business better than anyone else, chances are you already know how your website should look. Designing a great website requires very little skill and pretty much anyone is qualified to layout a web page. Go ahead and don't be afraid to get creative! Remember, you're trying to get the public's attention so be sure to spice things up with colored backgrounds, flashing text and some animations. You only get one chance to make a first impression so don't blow it by having a website that is boring.
Step 5: Post your Website to the Internet.
Because you've decided to host the website yourself, posting your website to the internet should be a breeze. For this step you will need some tape or some glue. -- Carefully attach your website to your computer screen. When posting your website to the W-W-W, try not to use too much adhesive. Too much tape or glue can start to look tacky after a while. We want to keep your website as neat, clean and professional as possible. Once your website is put online, it is now ready for viewing.

Step 6: Become #1 on Google
What good is having an awesome website if nobody can find it, right? So, one of the first things you need to do after posting your new site is to make it #1 on all the search engines. Again, many web designers will tell you that getting people to visit your website can be very hard but, this simply isn't true. In fact, getting visitors to your website is easy and anybody can do it.
To become #1 on Google all you have to do is add some META tag keywords to the web page and send out a lot of emails. It also helps if you have lots of links on your website. Set up links from your website to as many other websites as you can. This is how you let the 'internet world' know you are out there. As soon as they know you're out there you will become #1 with Google, with Yahoo and with Bing.

Step 7: Website Analytics
To keep accurate measure of your website traffic, you will need a calculator or a small spiral notebook.
Try this: Call out to your wife, sister, boyfriend or anybody else who may be in the house with you. Tell them to come, look at your screen and check out your new website. For each person who answers your call, add 1 to the total. For example, if your mom, brother and aunt all come to see your new website, you would add a total of 3. You now have had three unique visitors!!! See how easy that was? Getting people to visit your new site requires very little time and effort.
Next, ask them if THEY LIKE your website. Because, if they like it, chances are everyone else will like it too.
Also, don't worry about getting any business from your website right away. Chances are, new customers will visit your new website first and then just call you on the phone. And besides, deep down you know your website is awesome. Right? -- I mean, everyone tells you how great your website is, so it must be true.
Now that you know everything there is to know about building a new website, you can avoid paying those outrageous fees charged by expensive web designers.
